Onto the article...Cooking is an important skill if you’re looking to build muscle, stay lean, and be healthy. The reality is most of us are strapped for time and when it comes to quick meals we’re limited to microwaveable foods or takeout… which are all loaded with bad things (salt, sugar, carbs). Greg Doucette and his Anabolic Cookbook may be able to help.
Are you interested in trying Greg Doucette’s Anabolic Cookbook but not sure it works? Do you want to try the recipes in this book but worried it might have negative health effects?
This cookbook is specifically designed for people who don’t have the patience or desire to prepare meals multiple times a day or people who generally don’t have an interest in cooking.
In this Anabolic Cookbook review we’ll take a look at the pros and cons of Greg Doucette’s Anabolic Cookbook and see what others across the web are saying as well. Let’s dive into it.
Features And Benefits of Greg Doucette’s Anabolic Cookbook
Read on to learn more in this Greg Doucette anabolic cookbook review.
1. Several Recipes To Choose From
Most cookbooks will have sections for breakfast, lunch, plus dinner – and, if you’re fortunate, a few desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. Thankfully, Greg Doucette’s Ultimate Anabolic Cookbook (see it here) has it all, and more!
Depending on what you’re eating and what you already have in the pantry, you have over 60 recipes to pick from. You might cycle through these recipes for years if you’re able to invest a lot of time at the grocery store and in the kitchen playing with different foods.
2. Healthy Ingredients
Many cookbooks say to have “good ingredients,” but then you find stuff like raw milk, bacon, and grease snuck into any meal. This is not the case with Greg Doucette’s Anabolic Cookbook.
Greg Doucette includes a much better substitute for any traditional “unhealthy” ingredient. But you don’t have to completely give up bacon; instead, use soy bacon pieces. It is possible to eat healthy and tasty food at the same time.
3. Ease of Preparation
Although ordering some items online or going to the grocery a few days a week can be a pain, actually planning each recipe is a breeze.
You don’t have to spend all day in the kitchen because Doucette explicitly explains how to prepare and dish (even down to the tiniest details like boiling the water).
Any of these dishes can be made in as few as 15 minutes, and in some cases as little as 6 minutes.
4. Unique Dietary Alternatives
The drawback of many cookbooks – especially those aimed at bulking up on protein – is that there’s very little space for error when it comes to ingredients. You may be out of luck if you don’t consume beef (or animal products) or need to resist gluten.
A significant number of the recipes are vegetarian, with a few vegan options, and there are some gluten-free spaghetti dinners. In other words, no matter what kind of diet you adopt, you have options.
5. Delectable Recipes
When you aim at losing weight, the pleasure you get from food vanishes. You must be willing to sacrifice flavor if you choose to slash calories, avoid hunger pangs, and get your macros. Not for these recipes, at least.
You’ll never have to pick between your goals and food satisfaction with too many tasty, filling, and low-calorie recipes to choose from (like apple goop and chocolate lava cake).
No more bland peanut butter, unseasoned chicken breast, or chalky protein powder. You can look forward to tasty meals again.
Drawbacks of Greg Doucette’s Anabolic Cookbook
Though the Anabolic Cookbook hits a lot of the marks, there are some drawbacks worth mentioning
1. No Meal Selection Guidance
Do we have any doubts that these dishes are nutritious? Certainly not! Almost every recipe in this cookbook has good ingredients, preparation techniques, and nutritional qualities than what you’re consuming right now.
The issue is that if you have no idea how many calories or macronutrients you need daily, this book would be useless to you. Given that this cookbook is aimed at those who want to gain weight and increase their protein consumption, you’d hope Doucette might at least make some recommendations.
2. The Ingredient Issue
The products in Doucette’s cookbook are all-natural and nutritious. However, getting the ingredients is a different story.
You’ll have to go to the grocery shop many times a week to ensure a fresh supply of fruits and vegetables while still purchasing foods that aren’t readily available in the regular aisle (like mustard sauce or xanthan gum).
Greg Doucette Cookbook Reviews
Here are some reviews from customers who have tried this amazing cookbook:
“This book is life-changing. You can find EVERYTHING (or substitutes of the things Greg is providing). This book should be taught at schools.” – Nikolas Toti, goodreads.com
“I like Greg’s advice for the most part but I find it funny that every other creditable YouTuber advocates for a small calorie surplus to build muscle optimally but Greg continues to say that you can eat at maintenance and gain muscle optimally. Anecdotally I tried to maintain it for months and made almost no progress and then I immediately saw gains after changing nothing except entering a caloric surplus.” – Reddit
“In 7 months I’ve lost 50 pounds and I’ve managed to keep the weight off by eating these low-calorie dense foods. I’ve never felt stronger and better in the gym. This just shows you that if you follow a healthy lifestyle and not a diet you will see incredible results no matter what’s your starting point. All thanks to coach Greg and his amazing cookbook!” – Faris
