Magic Spoon is a cereal company that creates cereal marketed as “Healthy cereal that tastes too good to be true.”
In this Magic Spoon review I’ll be going over:
- My own experience with Magic Spoon
- If Magic Spoon cereal tastes good
- The Keto and Diabetes credentials of Magic Spoon
- The nutritional profile of Magic Spoon
- The ingredients in Magic Spoon Cereal
- The Magic Spoon Cereal Guarantee
Is Magic Spoon Cereal Good?
This is the biggest question that most people ask. They want to know if this cereal that is so high in protein actually tastes good.
I can’t answer this question without trying the cereal, so I ordered a box. The image above is Magic Spoon Cereal in blueberry. It has that “kid’s cereal blueberry color.”
On the plus side, the blueberry flavor was VERY sweet and had a strong blueberry flavor. It did a good approximation of the popular kid’s cereal “Boo Berry,” without the sugar rush.
On the downside, I could taste the sweeteners. Magic Spoon doesn’t use can sugar, rather its sweetener blend consists of allulose, monk fruit extract, and stevia extract. It wasn’t a bad aftertaste, but it was there.
If you are used to eating a Keto plan you probably wouldn’t taste it at all.
Is Magic Spoon Keto?
You can see the nutritional label in the image. Magic Spoon cereal has 12 grams of protein and only 3 grams of net carbs. Because of that it will work within a Keto diet.
Is Magic Spoon cereal good for diabetics?
Yes. Because of it’s low carb profile, Magic Spoon cereal won’t spike your blood sugar up. If you are diabetic and looking for a sweet cereal alternative, this could be the right cereal for you.
What Are the Ingredients In Magic Spoon Cereal?
Magic Spoon Cereal has a surprisingly small ingredient list. This is always a good sign that a food is not full of processed chemicals. The ingredients are:
- Protein blend (milk protein isolate, whey protein isolate)
- Coconut oil
- Tapioca flour
- Sweetener blend (allulose, monk fruit extract, stevia extract)
- Chicory root fiber
- Natural flavors

No bad aftertaste
I was worried that there would be that bad aftertaste you get with sugar substitutes but there is NONE. I couldn’t recommend more for people on a low carb diet!Jakayla N
Makes life nicer
As a person diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, eating very few carbohydrates is a way that I keep my blood glucose under tight control and maintain a 4.7 HbA1c. Given my VLC life, I never would have imagined being able to eat cereal again; yet here I am, enjoying Magic Spoon without having to dose any more insulin than I do for a meal of protein and veggies. Makes my life nicer !Erica
Delicious! Review by Lelia D. on 27 Aug 2019 review stating Delicious! I’ve ordered this twice now and I love it! It only took a few days to ship to me. I personally think it’s worth the money because even a small portion is very filling. The flavors are great… it is definitely reminiscent of the cereals I loved growing up.Lella D
The Magic Spoon Cereal Guarantee
Magic Spoon Cereal has a very simple guarantee. It states, “If you’re not completely in love with your cereal, we’ll refund your order in full.”
The Bottom Line on Magic Spoon Cereal
There are several reasons to get Magic Spoon Cereal.
- You are doing a Keto diet and want a sweet cereal that is Keto compliant and tastes good
- You are diabetic and want a sweet cereal that is healthy and tastes good
- You want a sweet cereal that is way better for you than Boo Berry or Frosted Flakes
If you are looking for any of those things, then I highly recommend Magic Spoon cereal.
However, I’m personally not a big fan. I don’t love the taste of the sweeteners and I don’t think that Keto is the best program for physical health – even though it’s very popular right now.
Instead, I like Rusty Moore’s high carb program for losing weight and gaining muscle. I think it’s much healthier and it’s WAY easier to follow.
